Step 7: Editing the Start screen

The Start screen is where your courses are displayed as a series of image tiles or channels.

Edit images and text, add or remove courses, then preview or publish your changes. 

To make changes to your Start screen, in the editor, click on Start in the left side menu.

Add a logo

  1. Scroll down to Details.
  2. Under Logo, click the X to remove the default image.
  3. Upload your own logo image by clicking on the Upload icon. 
  4. Select your logo image on your computer.

If you have a logo already uploaded in the File Library or used elsewhere in your project, click on the Folder icon to select the file from the Library.


Edit the welcome message

  1. Scroll down to Details.
  2. Under Description, write your new welcome message.

Change the background image

  1. Scroll down to Design.
  2. Under Background field, click the X to remove the default image.
  3. Upload your own background by clicking on the Upload icon. 
  4. Select your background image on your computer.

If you have a background image already uploaded in the File Library or used elsewhere in your project, click on the Folder icon to select the file from the Library.


Remove a course

  1. Scroll down to Add or Edit Courses. You'll see your courses listed here.
  2. Find the course you want to remove and click the X.

Removing a course from your Start screen will not delete the course, it will unpublish it from your project. You can view/edit the removed course under Courses in the editor. 


Add a course

  1. Scroll down to Add or Edit Courses. 
  2. Click the Add Existing button.
  3. Select which course you want to add from the list.

To add a new Course, you must create the Course first. Visit our Courses section to see the series of articles explaining how to create a new course.


Save your changes

  1. Click the Save icon in the top right corner.

You must save your changes before you can Preview or Publish your project.


Preview your project

Preview your project to see what your changes look like before you publish.

  1. Scroll down to Publish.
  2. Click the Preview button to launch your preview in a new tab.

Publish your Start screen

Once you've previewed your changes, and are happy with how they look, you are ready to publish your Start screen. 

  1. Scroll down to Publish.
  2. Click the Publish button. 

This will publish only the Start screen changes.
